- Black Bird Yellow Sun Written and illustrated by Steve Light, Candlewick Press (0-3) Deceptively simple, this book of colors will get your tot making up her own stories about what that black bird is up to in the green grass and under the purple grapes. $
- Touch Think Learn: Vehicles Written and illustrated by Xavier Deneux, Chronicle Books (2-4) The one-to-three-year-old-set will love exploring the outsides (and insides) of some of their favorite modes of transportation in this cool cutout book. $

- The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. Merchant. Any toddler who loves made up creatures will get a kick out of The Gruffalo. The story follows a clever mouse who invents a silly "gruffalo" to stay safe in the woods.
- If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Big Book by Laura Joffe Numeroff. Merchant. As one of the best toddler books around, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie should live in every child's bedroom.
- In My Heart: A Book of Feelings by Jo Witek. Merchant. For toddlers learning about emotions, this book about feeling shines. Happiness, anger, sadness and bravery are just a few feelings surrounded by beautifully illustrated artwork.
- The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf. Merchant. This Amazon Teacher's Pick packs in a lot of heart into such a classic story. The Story of Ferdinand follows a bull who'd rather smell the flowers (literally) than be like all the other bulls.
- Classic Toddler Books. These “classics” are all books that have stood the test of time. You might have gotten them (or given them!) at a baby shower, but that’s just because they’ve been beloved by so many people.
- Silly Books. There’s nothing better than a baby’s laugh, and these five silly books will get everyone giggling! Whose Toes Are Those? by Jabari Asim and LuUyen Pham.
