Fire Resistance is a status effect that grants the affected player/mob complete immunity to all sources of fire damage.
Fire Resistance grants immunity to damage from fire, blaze fireballs, fire charges, magma blocks, and lava. Negates any bonus fire damage from bows enchanted with Flame and swords enchanted with Fire Aspect, but the attacks themselves are unaffected.
This effect does not work against direct hits/explosions from ghast fireballs or against melee attacks from a blaze, as neither of these sources are considered to deal fire damage. It will, however, prevent damage from any fire created by a ghast's fireball.
Fire resistance also reduces the fog effect created due to being submerged under lava. This effect is stronger in Bedrock Edition than it is in Java Edition. Fire Resistance also prevents the affected targets from catching fire[Bedrock Edition only], which stops the fire itself from covering the player's screen.
Any undead mobs that receive Fire Resistance do not take damage from exposure to sunlight, nor do they catch fire from it.
The wither and ender dragon are immune to this status effect.
Many Nether mobs (blazes, ghasts, magma cubes, striders, wither skeletons, zoglins, zombified piglins) are naturally resistant to fire and lava, and are unaffected by the Fire Resistance status effect. Wardens are also resistant to fire and lava, despite not spawning in the Nether.

Mar 25, 2023 · Fire Resistance potions would still retain their fire immunity, even if the effect only lasts 3 minutes, 8 with redstone boost per bottle but these potions are non stackable for obvious reasons. But what Fire Resistance potion does not grant you is immunity or damage reduction from any other source, only burn damage from lava or fire.
Fire Resistance is a Status Effect which grants a player temporary immunity to heat-related sources of damage, such as Fire, Lava, or a Blaze's fireball attacks. It has a strange orange color. However, it will not douse the fire from a player, so if the effect runs out while a player is burning, they will start taking fire damage. This is one of the most useful status effects to have while ...
