Jan 1, 2023 · As sketched out in Fig. 1, I describe the overall patterns, the methods used to elicit errors, and the theories or models built upon them. I then consider the role of the listener and of the conversational dyad in how errors affect communication, interfacing with work in sociolinguistics and conversation analysis.
This work describes a methodology of collecting speech errors from audio recordings and investigates how some of its assumptions affect data quality and composition. Speech errors of all types (sound, lexical, syntactic, etc.) were collected by eight data collectors from audio recordings of unscripted English speech.
Nov 10, 2013 · In summary, the current data provide support that speech errors can be detected during early speech formulation processes, prior to articulation. The production of speech errors was preceded by increased amplitude in the stimulus-related P2 component.
This chapter proposes some improvements on a method for eliciting speech errors, the so-called SLIP technique, including the use of multi-level logistic regression for data analysis.
Apr 9, 2016 · Abstract. This work describes a methodology of collecting speech errors from audio recordings and probes how some of its methodological decisions affect data quality and composition. Speech errors of all types (phonetic, phonological, syntactic, etc.) were collected by six data collectors from podcasts of natural and unscripted English speech.

Mar 8, 2023 · Internal predictive coding may provide a mechanism to detect and correct speech errors prior to producing them (Hickok, 2012). Although talkers can detect and correct overtly produced speech errors, evidence for internal error correction in speech is limited to inferences based on the timing of error corrections.
