Jun 20, 2022 · Stridor, also known as noisy breathing, is a condition that causes you to make a high-pitched whistling noise when you breathe in or out. There are several causes for this condition, but the most common is a foreign object stuck in your airway. Contact your provider if you have noisy breathing because symptoms can be life-threatening.
- Wheezing. This high-pitched whistling noise can happen when you’re breathing in or out. It’s usually a sign that something is making your airways narrow or keeping air from flowing through them.
