Fireheart emerges from the warriors' den. He spots Sandstorm across the clearing, and makes his way towards her. He has spoken to several warriors about joining the patrol to Snakerocks, but hasn't yet spoken to Sandstorm. He doesn't want to risk her life on this dangerous task, but he knows without a doubt that he wants Sandstorm by his side.
Chapter description. Fireheart springs forward and bursts through the lichen that shields Bluestar's den. He sees that Tigerclaw has the ThunderClan leader pinned down, and although the blue-gray she-cat fights back, she is unable to break free. Fireheart yowls at the dark tabby that he's a traitor, and flings himself at the deputy.
Meanwhile, Fireheart and Graystripe have just finished their warrior vigil. Graystripe says that he could sleep for a moon, prompting Tigerclaw to show up and call him lazy. Fireheart remembers Ravenpaw's words about Tigerclaw being a murderer, and he decides to tell Bluestar about it. Just then, Bluestar holds a ceremony.
Fireheart and Cinderpelt discuss Bluestar's behavior, and Fireheart worries that Bluestar will accuse WindClan at the Gathering.
