The likely reason why Baten Kaitos is being remasstered and not Xenosaga. I've seen a lot of Xenoblade fans upset and confused that, despite Bandai Namco claiming a Xenosaga remaster would not be profitable enough to make, they're remaking the even more obscure series Baten Kaitos.
It takes a bit of getting used to because the UI doesn't explain it very well to new players, but once you get the hang of it, it's a very easy system for performing a wide variety of attacks. Since each character has access to 10 different attacks in a fight, it allows you to be flexible based on what you're fighting.
The series is only available on the PS2 outside of Japan. If you’re going the console route, I’d suggest getting a backwards compatible PS3, so that way you’d have access to PS1, PS2, and PS3 libraries. More bang for your buck.
