- A righteous life is one marked by confidence in the Lord, an honorable legacy, not giving in to fear but rather keeping one’s trust in God, and being generous to those in need. The Righteous Person. The righteous person is described in the first three verses. That person is the one who knows and obeys God's commandments. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (Psalm 1:1)
For the righteous in Psalm 1 commentary, reading the Bible isn’t boring or a waste of time. Instead, the righteous person looks forward to reading the Word of God. He gains happiness by reading it and by meditating on it!
