2Corinthians 5:17 is one of the most well-known passages in Paul’s letters to the church of Corinth. Once we accept Christ as our Savior, our newness is reflected in the fact we now have a godly perspective. Our eyes have been opened to the things of Christ. New creation, then, is a Pauline concept in the New Testament. It is clearly related to Paul's belief that the new age (salvation, life in the Spirit) has broken into the old age. The idea of a new heavens and earth or of a renewal of the universe may be behind Paul's concept.
