The security guard is probably intended to be bait but it appears that the presence of a security guard is what drives them to kill. TL;DR: Security guards are required otherwise Fazbears won't be insured. Guards are intended as bait but no one would die if there were no night guard. 1. HexCubed.

Something like that. So if that’s what I heard, then I legit don’t know why. Looked it up: From the Night 1 Phone Guy tape it’s along the lines of tied into a criminal database that allows them to detect a predator from a mile away. Maybe it's to give the Animatronics someone to "play" with.
