Mar 31, 2021 · Becoming a godly woman means stepping into your God-given leadership. Let God’s voice speak louder than all the others. Here are a few ways to be a godly woman within God’s parameters for us.
- A Godly Woman Fears the Lord. Proverbs 31:30 says… “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Rather than focusing on outward beauty or appealing to other people, a godly woman focuses on God first.
- She Speaks and Behaves Wisely. Proverbs 31:26-27 says… “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
- She Helps to Guide Younger Women into Godliness Themselves. Titus 2:3-5 says… “Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine.
- She Submits to Her Husband in Christian Marriage. Colossians 3:18 says… “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” Rather than sinfully seeking dominance over her spouse, a godly woman should submit to her husband as he follows the Lord in their marriage.

Modern society has a very specific idea of what the perfect woman should be – independent, outspoken, and unapologetically sexual. We are surrounded by these values every single day. But as Christians, we are not meant to blend in with the values of this world; we are called to live differently.
- A Godly woman raises children. God commends women for bringing up children in this passage and others, including Proverbs 31 and Titus 2. Paul praises Timothy’s mother and grandmother for the genuine faith they instill in Timothy.
- A Godly woman shows hospitality. God views the act of hospitality as precious, and He praises women of the Bible for their welcoming sprit (such as Lydia in Acts 16).
- A Godly woman is a servant. The final part of 1 Tim 5:10 is “…if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.”
- A Godly woman is modest and humble. Modesty is a popular topic when discussing characteristics of a godly woman. But let’s look at it from a different perspective.
