Jan 13, 2023 · albert-off last edited by . Opera gx removed the standard plugin that allowed us to use Chrome Web extensions, everything stopped working. I thought that by updating the Opera gx the problems would be solved, but on the contrary, now nothing works at all, Google translator, extensions for YouTube, a black theme for the messenger.

- Some Extensions don't work anymore
Some Extensions don't work anymore. since the last release of Opera One (108.0.5054.0), some extensions don't work as before (they work just fine with the classic Opera browser). They are all external extensions, coming from Chrome web store. Opera one suggests repairing them, but nothing happens when I try.

Opera doesn't use Chrome OS, it uses Chromium just like Chrome. And, yes, some Chrome extensions may not work, specially those using functions not available in Opera. But, it doesn't work for the Infinity new Tab extension for some reason. It works with FVD Speed Dial though. Besides that, you should be good to go.
Switching to opera has been great, but one extension which really helped with productivity (New Tab Studio) simply isn’t working after installing. Even the extension for installing chrome webstore extensions isn’t working but I read that it isn’t needed anymore?
