Years active. 1969–1995. Formerly of. Black Lace, Smokie. Alan Leslie Barton (16 September 1953 – 23 March 1995) was a British singer and member of the hit -making duo Black Lace. [1] Their hits included "Agadoo", "Superman" and their United Kingdom Eurovision Song Contest 1979 seventh-place finisher "Mary Ann" in Jerusalem. [2][3]
Terry Uttley. 9th June 1951-16th December 2021. Bass guitarist Terry Uttley, one of the founder members of the band SMOKIE back in the 1970s sadly and unexpectedly passed away after a short Illness. Terry was a pupil at St. Bede's School in Bradford when the group was first formed and remained as the 'daddy' of the band throughout the decades.
