Jan 3, 2017 · As rodabon said, that will not work because the game saves data about the End inside level.dat (which you definitely do not want to delete); you'd have to manually edit it with an NBT editor to remove the End-related data (everything under DimensionData: 1), as well as delete EndCity.dat (I think that is the name; the Wiki does not list it) from the data folder or they will not regenerate ...

Although you will die (even in Creative!) if you fall too far into the void, the upper portion of the void won't kill you, and that section is deep enough that you should have more than enough time to start flying and escape.
