Oct 9, 2024 · It's a 50/50 chance, if you lose that chance then another roll is made and it's a 1 in 10 chance to win. The odds come to a 55% chance to win per HoYo's declaration of the odds.
You either save enough to guarantee or you expect the worst case scenario. If you expect the worst you can only be right or pleasantly surprised. Losing a 50/50 sucks, but I balance it out by just never gambling about the characters I really want.

Closing thoughts- If after all this, you still think your pity's messed up, please do a recount. Also remember that hard pity is 90 and you're not guaranteed to get a 5* before 90.
Nov 3, 2023 · If you get the rate-up, your next 5-star is back to 50/50. If you get a standard 5-star, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the rate-up. This carries over between banners – so if you lose 50/50 on one banner, you‘re guaranteed the next rate-up 5-star you wish for.
When you lose the 50/50, the next 5 star character you pull will be guaranteed to be the featured character. Note that this carries over to every banner even after the previous one has expired.
