The Pumphouse Theatre is committed not only to providing a high-quality venue for the arts but also to keeping that venue affordable for Calgary’s arts community. OUR MISSION: is to enrich the cultural life of our community through the provision of two affordable rental theatre venues, learning opportunities for youth, and a variety of programming.
Pumphouse Theatre. Vision: The Pumphouse Theatre is a vibrant facility with historical significance supporting and presenting all art forms; and creating opportunities for engagement, enrichment, cultural experience, learning, and inspiration serving all Calgarians.
The Pumphouse Theatre. The Pumphouse Theatre is home to the Victor Mitchell Theatre, a 285 seat stage, and the Joyce Doolittle Theatre, a 60 seat black box. The Pumphouse Theatre was originally built as a water pumping station in 1913, and is situated in a serene setting on the banks of the Bow River, only minutes west of downtown.
