Tamable Animals are mobs whose trust can be earned, all of which have respective means of showing their loyalty and fondness to the player such as following them around or giving them access to breeding the animal. Additionally, the player can ride some of these animals by placing a saddlesonto them.
Undead Animals operate much like their normal counterparts, but share the characteristics of Undead Mobs. Like Undead Mobs, these animals cannot be bred and fed, take damage when using a Potion of Healing to it, as well as taking additional damage when inflicted by attacks enchanted with Smite.

Nov 2, 2024 · Hostile mobs spawn only in dark areas, and passive mobs spawn only in bright areas. Java Edition Alpha; v1.2.0? The mob spawning algorithm has been changed. Trying to spawn mobs inside a solid block no longer causes that entire spawn cycle to bail out. The chunk 0,0 (X 0-15 and Z 0-15) is no longer always the first chunk evaluated for mob spawning.
