About. The Scottish Association of Family History Societies promotes and encourages the study of Scottish family history, and provides a forum for the exchange of information among member societies. Our membership includes all established family history societies in Scotland, as well as several national and regional bodies throughout the world.
Dumfries & Galloway Family History Society. The society covers the three counties of South West Scotland – Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire. The Society was established in 1987. Its aim is to promote the study of family history and is run by volunteers. The society currently has close to 900 members world-wide.
