Jan 11, 2024 · Volleyball did just fine for 35 years prior to the introduction of the libero position and while you’ll almost always see a libero on the volleyball court today, teams don’t have to use a libero. I personally think the setter, both wing hitters, as well as the middle blockers are more important than the libero.
