Gneiss, Bunter sandstone. The Black Forest(German: Schwarzwald[ˈʃvaʁt͡svalt]ⓘ) is a large forestedmountain rangein the stateof Baden-Württembergin southwest Germany, bounded by the Rhine Valleyto the west and south and close to the borders with Franceand Switzerland.[1] It is the source of the Danubeand Neckarrivers.

The park was established on January 1st, 2014. The earliest guided tour in the national park starts at 05.00 a.m. for all early risers.
