I’m a Peterbilt guy through and through.. but I’ve driven western stars (4900) and I would trade my 379 in a heart beat for the right deal on a nice star car. If you mean the 4900, then there are a lot of fantastic owner OP spec'd big boy trucks for hauling whatever, wherever, and making big money doing it.
We have 8 trucks. 4 Freightliner Columbias, 2 Peterbilt 386 and 2 Western star 4900s. Honestly the most expensive to maintain is the Peterbilts but the interiors are better and quieter. The Freightliners are just work horses and never had anything worse than a turbo blow on them older Detroits. One has 1.1 million with an over haul at 800,000.
