Mar 21, 2024 · The Mulholland Drive portion will take you through the Hollywood Hills, Laurel Canyon, Beverly Hills, and many more stunning areas with celebrity houses and city views. At Highway 405, Mulholland Drive becomes Mulholland Highway. The road stretches 21 miles, which takes about two hours. I recommend giving yourself at least three hours to be safe.

Mulholland Drive starts at Cahuenga Boulevard near the Ventura Freeway (aka the 101), close to Universal Studios Hollywood. As you drive into the hills, stop at the Hollywood Bowl Overlook. You can see down into the famed venue, and glance out over the city of Los Angeles. You might even be able to catch glimpses of the Hollywood sign.

77 likes. It is truly breath-taking view, and the variety of vista points ensure that it is 100% legal. From up there, you can see the Los Angeles Basin, the San Fernando Valley, and even the Hollywood Sign. If you're going to stop up there, make sure to pull off to a safe area (but do not illegally park!).
Mulholland Drive runs East/West and can connect you to the main roads of Beverly Glen, Coldwater Canyon and Laurel Canyon Blvd. NOTE: You can take walking trails where Mulholland Drive meets Coldwater Canyon (look for Tree People sign). NOTE: If you can, avoid high traffic commute hours!
Proceed to Mulholland Drive (there is a traffic signal at this intersection), turn left (west). Drive about 3/4 mile to the Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook, on the right side of the road. Park your car in the lot and enjoy the views of the San Fernando Valley. You can also hike down into the canyon below on the Betty Dearing Trail.
