Our present Davidson County, North Carolina, was created by act of the Legislature on November 29, 1822 out of Rowan County, but not with the same boundaries that we know today. The bill to create the county went through the Senate and passed on November 27; it went to the House and passed on November 29, and Davidson County was created.
