Mar 21, 2024 · The best time to visit Mulholland Drive is spring or early fall when it’s not too hot and crowded with tourists. I’d also recommend going in the early evening and staying for sunset at any of the overlooks to see Mulholland Scenic Overlook at night.

Just driving down this road is anexperience unique to Los Angeles, which I didn’t want to give up. The best time to travel Mulholland Drive is both day and night. They both offer completely different views and experiences. My favorite time is just before sunset. You will be able to see the land change from light to dark. There are multiple viewpoints along Mulholland drive that are worth a stop.

Mulholland Drive winds its way up and down mountains for 12 miles, almost entirely above LA over the mountain range. The road is two lanes, but just barely, and has tons of intersections. It was tiring to drive and seemed like a long time, like being on a carousel. Occasionally you have nice views over/down to LA.
