    Walt Disney created a special animated short film just for the banquet, "Parade of the Award Nominees". This year introduced short films to the Oscars, with Flowers and Trees being the first color winner and first animated short winner. This was the first and, to date, only ceremony in which there was a tie for Best Actor, as well as the last ceremony to date in which no film won more than two Oscars.
