  7. May 17, 2014 · The first 1.5 miles parallels Slate Run Rd. The trail was well maintained here, with lots of logs that looked somewhat freshly cut. The trail also parallels the river (Slate Run) here, but just out of sight mostly. Once on the trail, it took 20-30 minutes for my GPS to find satellites and get a proper signal.
