- Tree Pose. This pose, also known as Vrksasana, strengthens the legs and core while also improving balance. 1. Start standing in mountain pose, with both feet flat on the floor and your hands by your side with palms facing upward.
- Butterfly Pose. We are all guilty of poor posture, but kids might be some of the biggest offenders. Regular practice of butterfly pose can help relieve shoulder tension while improving posture.
- Banana, Crescent Moon: Standing tall with hands on the sides, sweep the arms up overhead palms touching. Lean over to one side so that the biceps touch the ears.
- Bat, Monkey Swinging from a Tree: From standing position, open your legs wide. Placing your hands on your hips, fold forward from the hip. Move the head towards the floor looking upside down.
- Bed, Crab: Sitting on your bottoms, walk your hands behind you, fingers pointing towards your hips. Feet flat, bend your knees. Lift your hips up off the ground.
- Bicycle: Lying on your back, pretend you are on a bike. Raising your leg above the floor, bend your knee and bring it close to the chest. Begin a slow cycling movement of the legs.
