Today, Jackson Lake State Park is managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Park visitors come to enjoy some of the best boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing conditions in Colorado. With 3,303 acres of land and water to explore, Jackson Lake State Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
The 2,700-acre Jackson Reservoir is the center of the park, which is located in the northeast corner of the state and is an oasis in Northeast Colorado’s high desert. A popular state park to escape to in the summer, the lake is open to boating and fishing. A variety of lakeside campsites are available as well as picnic areas and multi-use trails.
Jackson Lake is ranked one of the "Top 15 Park Beaches" by Reserve America. Anglers, boaters, or naturalists realizing there’s too much fun for just one day enjoy the variety of water or land-based recreation land-based facilities found here. Birders and hunters flock here because of the parks location in the Central Flyway for migratory birds.

The lake closes to motorized boating October 16th. Hand launch vessels launched from the shorelines are still permitted. Boating at Jackson Lake does not resume until all ice is off the reservoir in spring. Please contact the visitor center at 970-645-2551 for more information.
This park features a large reservoir with sandy beaches and 240 campsites. Facilities include showers, toilets, laundry, electric hookups, a marina, sporting goods and much more. In 2020, it was named an International Dark Skies Park, making it the first Colorado State Park to hold the coveted designation.

A reservation is required to camp at Jackson Lake State Park, and it’s easy to make one. Reservations can be made online at cpwshop.com or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of your arrival date.
