2. Re: Access to Mulholland Drive & best scenic route. 3 years ago. Mulholland is beautiful from about Laurel Canyon to Coldwater Canyon, that is the famous area. You could take Mulholland all the way to the 405 and then take that to the 101 and then cross over Malibu Canyon to Malibu. The canyon roads like Topanga and Malibu are gorgeous.
