Plot. The Rani has opened a hole in time, allowing her access to the Doctor's timeline. She uses this to cycle through the Doctor's lives, causing him and his companions to jump back and forth between past and present incarnations.
Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time: With Sophie Aldred, Tom Baker, Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant. The Rani hatches a scheme to trap the incarnations of the Doctor and their various companions in a 20-year time loop in Albert Square.

From September 25th to 27th, the Visual Effects Studio at BBC Television Centre in White City, London was home to model and effects filming for “The Dimensions Of Time”. In editing, shots of a Dalek were removed at the insistence of Terry Nation's agent, Roger Hancock.
Most of the action sequences were filmed in Albert Square, the fictional location of Eastenders, with some of the characters from that soap opera making brief appearances. Dimensions in Time was filmed in a special 3D and was shown as two episodes, each being about 12 minutes in length.
