Dec 4, 2023 · Considering I've gotten a lot of games that were completely clean to work that couldn't load originally several times just from adjusting the way that I inserted them in the cart, there is more than just dirtiness going on or contact problems. there is definitely some wonkiness around the 2600 plus load cycle and certain games. especially games that do not have normal cartridges.
Currently no way to play two-button 7800 games, but they've announced that a new 2-button 7800 controller is coming, so that will apparently be fixed. The 2600+ does actually work with the Harmony Cart if you just load one game on the card and don't use the menu. edit: Also it does not work with 4:3 LCD monitors, only 16:9 resolutions.
Mar 7, 2022 · I tested all games in both the Retron 77 and the Atari 2600 to ensure the games were working correctly. Firmware tested was on Stella 6.6.0. Curiously, I found that older Atari PCB's with brass connectors did not work in the Retron 77. I'm not sure why but I had several of the same game, where the older version did not work but the newer did work.
Aug 17, 2024 · We'd like to (finally) update the 2600+ compatibility list on Atari's website to reflect the progress that's been made improving the compatibility of games and hardware on the 2600+. If there's anything that does NOT run 100% on the 2600+ using the very latest firmware , please list it below, including a description of how the game or hardware fails.
Another bug persist in "combat" game. Its a simple 2k rom, but dont work ok. When you start a game (somentimes in the demo screen too) the fire shot of both tank are running on the screen allways. If you move the tank, the fire moves too (likes original) but the fire never ends.
