It linked the monthly Superman, Action Comics, and Supergirl titles, explored Superman mythos, created some worldbuilding, and introduced several super-powered characters.
The story revolves around the sudden appearance of 100,000 Kryptonians on Earth, following the events of the Brainiac arc. Superman finds himself torn between his loyalty to Earth and his Kryptonian heritage as these new Kryptonians, led by General Zod, struggle for acceptance.
New Krypton is the title of a 2008 comic story arc featuring Superman, Supergirl, other Kryptonians, and the city of Kandor. The theme of the series is the restoration and enlargement of the city of Kandor and the effects that happen to Earth as a result of this event.
