Laureline is a main character of the Valerian and Laureline franchise.

Her name was invented to sound "medieval" and "soft."

Laureline is a peasant girl from eleventh-century France. She finds Valerian trapped in a giant leaf and cuts him free. She accidentally discovers he is a time-traveler, so he brings her back to Galaxity, where she is trained to be a spatiotemporal agent and assigned to be his partner.

She initially lets Valerian be the hero, but when separated for a period, she rises to the occasion. She eventually rebels against Galaxity, siding with the native Alflololians, and becomes the star of one adventure when Valerian is kidnapped.
