Laureline is a peasant girl from eleventh-century France. She finds Valerian trapped in a giant leaf and cuts him free. She accidentally discovers he is a time-traveler, so he brings her back to Galaxity, where she is trained to be a spatiotemporal agent and assigned to be his partner.
