  1. Dec 29, 2021 · DC Comics has plenty of cosmic-level characters to go on adventures, but Batman and Robin are some of their best street-level heroes.

    • BATMAN. If there is one superhero in comic books — Marvel or DC — that represents the street-level hero, it is Batman. From the time he debuted in the '30s, Batman was a man who kept to himself and protected the streets of Gotham City from the criminal underworld.
    • NIGHTWING. The first Robin ended up as one of DC Comics' most beloved heroes over time as Dick Greyson ended up taking on the role of Nightwing. As Robin, he was the first comic book sidekick, a partner to Batman for decades before DC finally moved him out on his own.
    • CASSANDRA CAIN. If this were a ranking of the deadliest street-level heroes in DC Comics, the one-time Batgirl Cassandra Cain would top the list. However, as a hero, she ranks third below the two most iconic street-level heroes in DC Comics history.
    • GREEN ARROW. One of the rare DC Comics street-level heroes that has nothing to do with Gotham City is none other than Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow.

    • Batman Is The Most Terrifying Thing About Being In Gotham. The vigilante who essentially created the blueprint for being a street-level superhero, Batman's appeal is about more than just what he can do fighting his rogues' gallery.
    • Spider-Man Balances His Time Between Common Thugs And Powerful Supervillains. Spider-Man is too powerful for what most people mean when they think of street-level.
    • Nightwing Is The Most Light-Hearted Of All Of Batman's Students. Dick Grayson can be in any setting and feel right at home. Once he was discovered by Bruce Wayne, it didn't take long before Dick was springing onto the scene in Gotham as Robin the Boy Wonder.
    • Daredevil Protects His Corner Of New York City From Crime. Daredevil has turned into one of the best street-level heroes comics have to offer. Part of it is how willing fans are to go along with whatever's going on in the hero's life.
    • Batman. While Batman is the second-most popular superhero of all time, there remains no doubt why he is the best street-level player after all. Batman as a character began his journey with a pulpy personality in crime-oriented stories before engaging in camp.
    • Catwoman. Selina Kyle as an individual has grown significantly considering her role in Gotham City. Moreover, Catwoman started as a villain in Batman’s gallery but started transforming into an anti-hero.
    • Green Arrow. While Green Arrow does not have the same level of popularity as Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman, the character significantly ranks amongst the top DC Comics superheroes.
    • Red Hood. Jason Todd managed to become the first Robin who got killed but still remained in high demand. In this regard, when the Joker murdered Todd, his rebirth turned him into Red Hood who was indeed darker.

    • Supergirl. First Appearance: 'Atomic Comics #252' (1959)
    • Superman. First Appearance: 'Action Comics #1' (1938) Kal-El, also known as Superman and the Man of Steel, is an obvious pick as one of the most powerful characters in DC Comics, if not in all of fictional storytelling.
    • Lex Luthor. First Appearance: 'Action Comics #23' (1940) One of the most iconic comic book villains and, famously, the arch-enemy of Superman, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) isn't necessarily the most physically powerful figure in DC's body of work, but he is among the smartest.
    • Darkseid. First Appearance: 'Forever People #1' (1971) Powered by a cosmic energy source known as the "Omega Effect," Darkseid is one of the greatest and mightiest antagonists associated with the Justice League.
  2. Mar 8, 2021 · Street-level heroes are an important part of any superhero universe and DC has some standouts. Two of the best are Green Arrow and Batman .
