Feb 15, 2021 · Spanish Flag. Spanish Sign Language is the sign language used in Spain. Just like how Spanish is completely different from English, SSL is completely different from ASL. SSL is the same across Spain, except for Catalonia and Valencia, which have their own signed languages (Catalan Sign Language and Valencian Sign Language).
The following are sign languages reported to be used by at least 10,000 people. Additional languages, such as Chinese Sign Language , are likely to have more signers, but no data is available. Estimates for sign language use are very crude, and definitions of what counts as proficiency are varied.
