No one knows who wrote the sermon, although almost everyone agrees that it was not written by Clement.
Whether Clement wrote it or not, this early Christian sermon comes from no later than very early in the second century. It is entirely possible that it is from the late first century. It is interesting to note that this sermon quotes 1 Clement , the letter to the Corinthians that is believed to have been penned by Clement of Rome (see ch. 11 below).
