There's a shot from (I think) Ian and Alan's car, and they look at the fence and see all the cables snapping away, then you see the T Rex break through and do his iconic roar, and he's quite a distance behind Tim and Lex's car. the hole Lex and Alan climb down is not the same hole the T-Rex broke through, but just a part of the fence that collapsed when the T-Rex came through.
In the book the Rex picks up the car and throws it into a tree in the paddock. The film didn't have a way to do that, but for whatever reason, they wanted to keep the tree scene. This is just a logic hole in the film and isn't explained with this. The Rex pushes the car through the hole we see it come out from.
