With the amount of games, having 16 digits doesn't make it impossible for badges to have the same number, maybe hard but some are going to be the same? That's the only reason that I think on why Roblox did this stupid change.

Some badges have been discontinued over time, but can still be seen on profiles of users who earned them previously. Discontinued badges include the Inviter badge, Ambassador badge, all Combat badges, and all Membership badges including the Welcome To The Club Badge. As of May 22, 2021, a normal player can only earn 4 of the 12 existing badges.
