      • The game checks every mod from the workshop for updates, and basically redownloads them all each time. The more mods you have, the longer it'll spend downloading them all. If you want mods to instantly load up, go to your l4d2 directory under Steam > Steamapps > common > Left 4 dead 2 > left4dead2 > addons > Workshop
  1. I've always had an issue with my computer running Minecraft modpacks slowly specifically, but it can run + load games like ARK and Battlefield quickly. It takes me 20+ minutes to load 100+ mod modpacks.

  2. Usually the most beefy modpacks would take about 15m max to load in the past with 4GB allocated. Now, I’m trying to run some other modpacks (Stoneblock 2, MC Eternal Lite, Divine Journey 2) and they take between 30m to over an hour to fully load.

  3. Smaller packs could always load in just a few seconds but the 200 mod heavy packs with thousands of items, blocks, textures and unique things to load into memory and register just take too much time.

  4. Normally I've always had a problem with loading times when running a modpack. Usually 3 minutes minimum to 10 minutes maximum when loading a modpack like Crash Landing or Project Ozone 2: Reloaded. Here is the current status: https://gyazo.com/66420bf13144b2152404c0b4efc7dbaa. That is almost a TWO HOUR WAITING TIME...

  5. Jun 5, 2019 · Unfortunately, there's not much else that will help. The way the game mods work, they are a bunch of loose files (my mods folder is 12,000+ files) and an HDD takes a long time to access and read them all into memory. I don't really like it either.

  6. It only takes me around 1 minute to load Gmod and 2 mins to load singleplayer on an almost full HDD. My SSD in my other computer is probably only 30 seconds faster.

  8. Nov 17, 2023 · ARK running on a regular HDD will cause longer load time and coupled to mods will also make for longer load time. The more mods or the bigger the mods are, longer the load time. So yes, 17 minutes is normal. if you were to transfer ARK on an SSD or M.2, it would cut down load time by a lot.
