Bruckner wrote and published nine symphonies. But then, after his death, they found an early trial-run symphony that he wrote but never published, so they decided to call it Symphony No. 0 ("Die Nullte"). Then they found another one, so they called it (not Symphony No. -1, that would have been awesome), but Symphony No. 00. And so it goes...
So like modern music songs had names, but symphonies and the like generally did not, and when they do have names like Mozart's "Paris" Symphony or "Jupiter" Symphony, they are generally applied long after the work was published by fans and music historians.
So why is it mentioned in classical music? Since orchestral and instrumental music normally doesn't have words there are no lyrics (unlike a pop song) from which a title can be created. You may have noticed that classical works have other ways of identifying them: numbers, names and catalogue numbers e.g. Mozart Symphony No 41 "Jupiter" K551.
But it didn't have a chorus or refrain that was obviously the title of the song. It did however start off with the super catchy "I said a hip, hop, hippy, hippy to the hip hip hop a you don't stop rockin" The legend goes that people would go into record stores and say "do you have that 'hip hop' song" and that's how the term Hip Hop came to be.
