The biggest culprit is repetition. The main way Minecraft is played and progression works has not changed in over a decade. You can pace yourself/restrict yourself to combat this issue somewhat but the basics will still remain the same. You can try to switch it up but at the end of the day you still follow the same path you have for ten years.

Speaking of armor and tools, the biggest problem in Minecraft is definitely ores. They shouldn't be so widespread. When the Caves & Cliffs update came, updates were promised for ore veins in caves, such as iron veins, gold veins, and coal veins.
Minecraft is a game that has been out for over 10 years, and has had survival as a core feature for most of that time. However, since updates don't come out that often (maybe once a year), the survival has gotten quite dull and repetitive over these past 10 years in my opinion.
