The immense amount of skill it teaches you is incredible and that's why you have the flexibility to go into a wide variety of careers. A law degree might be more respectable compared to Politics but if it's Politics that you actually want to study then go for it.

I think natural ability will play a part in how easy you generally find it, but you can certainly improve your source analysis if you want to (for your exams, at least).
