Last I heard liteloader is buggy with Forge, specifically if any Forge mod uses a registry replacement (uncommon, but a handful of mods use them) it can cause liteloader to crash. FTB makes entire modpacks that already include forge and the old FTB launcher or the twitch app take care of installing them.
Fabric gives all choices to devs, so there are a lot of buggy mods in Fabric. While forge is enforcing some kind of rules that dissuades devs from some bad practices. Fabric has Sodium + Phosphor + Lithium. These there are extraordinarily powerful at improving performance. The forge counterpart is Rubidium + Starlight + FerriteCore + FastSuite.

The difference being that Rift also supports adding new game content a lot better (or at all) than what LiteLoader did. So it's kind of a cross between LiteLoader and Forge, and IMO quite well suited especially for client-side mods, or otherwise smaller mods that don't have that much general interoperability features or systems.

Press the Open button to the right of the directory listing. In the folder that opens, head into the mods subfolder. Drag-and-drop LiteLoader’s .jar file into the mods subfolder.
