Jun 10, 2016 · If you have power on the jack, you are having issues with the boards circuitry. POWER SUPPLY. The power supply is composed of a +5 voltage regulator, filter capacitors, and the power on/off switch. Unregulated DC is supplied to the board from the battery eliminator.

Jul 16, 2019 · I just purchased an Atari 2600 with no power issue. I have opened up the Atari and tested the power supply and it has 15v when just plugged in and I get 11.2 Volts from the Capacitor and then the same voltage when testing the Voltage Regulator as well.

Aug 16, 2016 · If the power led doesn't turn on, your first suspect is the voltage regulator, as you have spotted. It's a very common one, 7805, easily found. For any repairment attempt, however, it is very advisable to have, at least, a multimeter.
May 12, 2010 · A voltmeter (multimeter) is a good way to test the power supply. The voltage may be several volts above the listed 9 volts. 9 is the voltage you should see when there's a load on the power supply.
