Whether I was walking back from the library at night alone, or even with another friend, there is always that sense of fear. Here at Penn State, they take the extra step to ensure student safety.

- You are a part of the family. From the moment you step on campus you are engulfed in a sea of people; many of which are sporting white and blue or some other form of Nittany Lion gear.
- Greek Life. Penn State is a huge campus made up of so many different students with different interests. College is a great time to find where you fit in and something that can aid in that is joining a sorority.
- The campus. You may not be looking forward to the long walks from your dorm to your classes, but if you take a second to look around, you’ll learn to appreciate everything University Park has to offer.
- Athletics. Penn State has 31 NCAA Division 1 teams at University Park and unmatched pride. Beaver stadium is even rated the best college football stadium according to a recent USA Today poll, and on game day, you’ll see why.
That's probably the most important pro/con you should be looking at. PSU is warmer than Minnesota. If college sports and tailgating are important to you, Penn State will exceed your expectations. If those aren't important to you, there's 40,000+ students around campus.
