    Did you know that in Pokémon GO, you can take augmented reality (AR) photos with both wild Pokémon and those you've caught? Some research tasks and quests require you to take a snapshot of a Pokémon, but what if you don't want to catch it? In that case, you can start an encounter with the wild Pokémon and press the AR camera icon. Alternatively, you can take snapshots of your own Pokémon with the camera in your inventory.     Whether you're encountering a wild Pokémon or looking at your own, tap the camera icon in the center of the top of your screen.

    Tap the white camera icon centered at the bottom of your screen to take a picture.

    Select if you want to keep the picture or not (Wild Pokémon only) then find saved pictures in your phone's photo gallery.

    Tap the wild Pokémon to start the encounter.

    You don't have to catch the Pokémon if you just want to take its picture.
