Jun 3, 2009 · If one changes the original reservation, then they system will take banked points first, borrowed points next, and fill in the remainder of the trip with points from the UY of travel. If one cancels, changes within 31 days of the trip, any points not used are now holding points.
Mar 25, 2008 · Borrowed points are only borrowed from a future year as needed for a booking. If the booking is cancelled, they go back to the year from whence they came. That's automatic. They do not expire in the current year, only in the year from where they came.
Nov 13, 2013 · You’re assuming there’s a system. In theory, you are correct that the banked points would be used to book the waitlisted room. But the consensus seems to be that the waitlist is processed by people after a match is found. So, you may have do deal with human error. They might borrow points.

Jul 31, 2019 · 1) If you manage to switch to BLT, the BLT reservation will take from your borrowed 2021UY points first then your normal 2020UY second. You could then bank your now-unused 2020UY points into 2021UY. These points would have to be used by end of March 2022.
Sep 3, 2024 · You can purchase up to 24 one-time-use points from Member Services at the 7-month mark or under for $20 per point. If you cancel a trip that was reserved with one-time-use points at least 31 days out, they will return to the current Use Year.
Nov 16, 2023 · Borrowing Points is a final transaction. Once your Points are converted from 2025 to 2024 Points, they will stay 2024 Points. So even if your reservation is cancelled or modified, those borrowed Points will now expire at the end of your 2024 Use Year.
