      • It is a very long book and therefore feels overdrawn at times. It deals with romances a lot more than focusing on the major plot, sometimes making it unnecessarily dramatic. Some parts of the plot are very predictable, thereby reducing the interest of the reader.

  1. The Half-blood prince despite being oddly short for the back end of the series is the most lore heavy book and they didn't capture even half of it. But we do have Daniel Radcliff cracking jokes at Aragogs funeral, which was supposed to be an intensely tragic moment for Hagrid.

  2. It is the sequel to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) and the sixth instalment in the Harry Potter film series. It stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger respectively.

  3. For once, Harry chooses to trust Snape, trusts that Dumbledore is right about him, that he has a plan - and that adds an additional gut punch when Snape (seemingly) betrays him. Though I do think there are aspects the book did better in this scene specifically, too. Harry could've been...positioned better, in the movie, if that makes sense?

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Voldemort lured Harry to the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic so that Harry could retrieve a prophecy. In the movie, this was smashed, but Harry still heard a snippet of the prediction. It told of a boy who would have power the Dark Lord knew not. However, little else was explained about...

In the movie, the headmaster wanted his student to see the first moment he met the Dark Lord as a child and reveal that, even in school, Voldemort had been searching for a solution to mortality in the Horcruxes. However, by the time of the Half-Blo...

The next memory Dumbledore showed Harry during their private lessons in Harry Potter was from Caractacus Burke, the owner of the wizarding shop Borgin and Burkes (where Voldemort worked before Harry Potter). Mr. Burke described a young patron in his shop who had been none other than Merope Riddle, Voldemort's mother. She entered the shop pregnant a...

Harry knew from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that one of Voldemort's first murders had been Myrtle Warren (Moaning Myrtle). Still, another trip into the Pensieve in Half-Blood Price revealed his subsequent murders were even more significant. This was entirely left out of the movies, though the house that the murder was performed in was s...

The Harry Potter movies mention that the Defense against the Dark Arts teaching position might have been cursed. The Half-Blood Prince book not only confirmed it but revealed that Voldemort himself was the one who had done it. Of course, this was another Pensieve memory left out of the Harry Potter movies. However, it had extraordinary significance...

Harry's final trip into the Pensieve was included in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 movie, but only a few of Severus Snape's memories were featured. While the film showed a young Snape meeting Lily, going to Hogwarts, and crying over her death, it missed the critical aspects of their friendship, not featuring how their relationship...

  7. Jul 24, 2024 · Although there are casualties on both sides and Harry Potter lacks his strongest ally, Half-Blood Prince at least offers audiences some closure. Hogwarts may have been breached and its headmaster murdered in cold blood, but there is still a sense of muted optimism in the air.
