Sep 30, 2017 · I would like to dance with you. This is a bit too direct. I would like dancing with you. This sounds all wrong. The polite, formal, way to ask is 'May I have this dance?'. A less formal, and perfectly natural, way is 'Would you like to dance?'. Cross-posted.

May 12, 2014 · I want to learn to sing and dance. (Here to sing and to dance would sound more unusual, though strictly speaking not ungrammatical.) My aim is to honour and cherish my wife. (I think to honour and to cherish can work.) His method was to come, to see and to conquer. (I think this works better with the multiple to's.)
