Nicholas David Nurse (born July 24, 1967) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Nurse, a native of Carroll, Iowa, was a guard at the University of Northern Iowa from 1985-89. Following his playing career, he became an assistant at UNI for the 1989-90 season.
Since serving as an assistant at his alma mater, Nurse has made a number of coaching stops. From 1995-2006, Nurse coached a number of European teams, most of which were in the British Basketball League. He was named the BBL Coach of the year for the 1999-00 and 2003-04 seasons.
Iowa Energy After a successful BBL coaching career, Nurse was hired to be the head coach of the NBA D-League's Iowa Energy in 2007. In four seasons coaching the Energy, Nurse held a head coaching record of 124-76. In his final season as the Energy's head coach, Nurse was named Coach of the Year and would go on to lead the team to its lone D-League ...
Dwane Casey added Nurse to his staff ahead of his third season as the team's head coach. In the five seasons that Nurse was a member of Casey's staff, the team went 263-147 and made five-consecutive postseason appearances.
